Commissioned briefs

Describe in 1 sentence what is a commissioned brief?
commissioned brief is when a company or client will hire a media company to come up with a ideas.
What does the client demand of the production company?
the client will demand ideas of what they could use.
What input will the client have on the final product?
How does the final idea get agreed?
The client has a really huge part in the final product because the client will ask the productions company for ideas and the ideas will be presented to the client and the client would choose which bits the would like to change from the proposal that is presented to them.
What are the pros and cons of this type of brief?
The pros of this is the fact that you can get help on what you wanted to do and it shows you different perspective and you can also change little bits that you don't like or what you would love to add on. The cons of this could be that the client would possibly not be happy with the ideas presented so It would take things longer than expected.
for example if a school was looking to start a new sports programme but the didn't really know what their students would like they would hire a company to see what the possible sport is and they'd pitch the idea to the school and the school would have to see if they happy with it and what they would like to change about it.
