world mental health day
In Nottingham the POM (protect our minds) decided to take it to Broad street and did a flash mob to raise awareness on the 10 of October. the flash mob consisted of 25 dancers and it was led Choreographed by professional dancer Molly May-Gardiner, she led dancers and samba percussionists in what was a five minute dancing frenzy. The grand sum of £180 was raised for Mind charity in just ten minutes. Other local companies involved were The Lofthouse, who gave over their space to allow the group to practice, and Broadway cinema who supplied the sound system on the day.

what I could do?
the first thing I'm thinking of doing is volunteering at a charity shop where I would sale things such as clothes etc but I don't really know how I can get this such thing out there and get people involved in the action. on the other hand I think I could try to get people to give their unwanted clothes to charity.
the other thing I could do is an idea that could get a lot of young people in the community get involved and I was thinking of starting a after score football centre like what some YMCA's have but I don't have them in my area which made this idea a great idea and I was thinking every Friday night all the kids would go to the local centre which doesn't get used anymore an im willing to volunteer and get young people involved and it will really help people to stay out of trouble.
Some great examples here Delvin, you could even add a possible social action idea that involved your journalism skills.
